Academic Relations
The FBLS has established an Academic Committee to further relations with University Law Faculties in the UK and France and to make annual Academic Awards.
The FBLS is currently inviting applications for an award of £3,000 which may be made to one individual or institution or divided between two or more. Applications for the 2011 Award should be sent to arrive at the Society’s office by 11 March 2011 and should include brief details of the specific proposals (with costings) for the project to promote Franco-British legal understanding for which funding is sought. University Law
Faculties are encouraged to become corporate members of the FBLS at a
special academic rate and individual law students are entitled to membership
at special low rates
(see Membership
Application Form ).
The FBLS
is accredited as a course provider for continuing legal education purposes
with the Law Society the Bar Council and the Institute of Legal Executives.
A report was published by the FBLS in March 2000 on French Law Teaching in University Law Faculties in the UK.
